Sophia Lanz - Advanced Rolfer in Zürich

About Sophia Lanz

Sophia Lanz is a dedicated somatic therapist who understands the profound impact chronic pain has on both the body and mind.

With over 20 years of experience, she transitioned from traditional physical therapy to a more comprehensive approach that addresses the root causes of pain rather than just the symptoms.

Using techniques like Advanced ROLFING, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, and Haptic Gamma Embodiment, she creates personalized healing experiences that help her clients find true comfort and relief.

My Story

Born in Brazil and now thriving in the heart of Zürich, Sophia is not your average therapist. With over 20 years of hands-on experience, she has mastered Advanced ROLFING, Cranio-sacral Therapy, and Haptic Gamma Embodiment techniques. This comprehensive toolkit allows her to offer not just therapy, but a transformational journey towards true comfort in their bodies. Customers seeking to feel better often come to her desperate for help after countless treatments left them frustrated and still in pain.

In her years of practice, Sophia has cultivated a deep connection with her loyal clients. They value her as a guide who listens, sees, and truly understands the intricacies of their struggles. The dual languages of their pain are spoken fluently because Sophia empathizes with the emotional weight carried alongside physical discomfort. To her, it’s an injustice that anyone should have to live in a body that fails to support them.

Through her therapy, clients don’t just find temporary fixes; they embark on a path to understanding how their bodies work within the gravitational field, and how to move better, live better, and interact better with their environment. The process starts simply: book an appointment on her website, enjoy a comforting first session, and, most importantly, begin to live pain-free and confident in your movement.

Sophia’s commitment to helping others extends beyond the treatment room as she believes healing is a shared journey towards empowerment and self-discovery. In her somatic healing practice, she doesn’t just treat pain; she guides clients towards a lifestyle convening balance, articulation, and freedom. As she opens the doors to her new practice in Zürich, she invites you to take that first step towards feeling seen, heard, and healed. Getting healthier and pain-free starts here. Book your session today, and rediscover what life feels like without discomfort.

My Journey With Rolfing

My personal connection to Rolfing as a therapy is deeply rooted in my own healing journey. I was born with a leg problem and spent much of my childhood undergoing different treatments.

While studying physical therapy at university in Brazil, I unexpectedly encountered Rolfing during a beach trip over Carnaval break. A Rolfer offered me my first session, and the impact was immediate and life-changing—it achieved in one session what years of therapy had struggled to do. That experience inspired me to begin formal Rolfing training within weeks, and from then on I knew this was the path I wanted to dedicate my life to.

I am so committed to Rolfing, especially in Switzerland because I have personally felt its unique power to transform the body and support deep healing. Unlike any therapy I had tried before, Rolfing helped me find balance, freedom of movement, and a new awareness of my body.  This personal transformation continues to drive my passion for helping others discover the same benefits.

Every client I work with reminds me of how important this method is, and why I remain dedicated to sharing Rolfing’s profound impact here in Switzerland.

Rolfing in Switzerland

The growth of Rolfing in Switzerland has been steady but meaningful. More doctors are recognizing its benefits, and many clients discover it through personal recommendations. As awareness of fascia work expands in the wellness world, Rolfing is gaining new appreciation as one of the pioneering methods focused on this vital connective tissue.

I have been practicing Rolfing for over 20 years—beginning in Brazil and continuing my work here in Switzerland. As one of the longest-practicing Rolfers in the country, I’ve seen firsthand how this method helps people find more balance, freedom, and ease in their bodies.

With advanced training in Advanced Rolfing Zürich, I can combine foundational techniques with highly personalized approaches in each session. This creates a flexible, creative process tailored to each client’s unique needs.

Today, there are around 30 to 35 Advanced Rolfing practitioners in Zürich, while in nearby Uster, only a few offer sessions. This smaller community ensures that Rolfing in Zürich remains deeply personal—focused on quality, individual attention, and lasting results rather than commercial trends.

Testimonials

I was unfamiliar with Rolfing before Sophia Lanz. But wow! After just one session, Sofia had relieved my cramped posture following a sports injury. After a total of four sessions, I walked as light as a feather. Rolfing has won me over. Sophia works with empathy and professionalism, sensitively and purposefully.
