My Way to Rolfing in Zürich

ree

When I look back on my journey, it's clear that my path to becoming a therapist was written in my childhood. Born with a small leg problem, I spent years in various treatments. This experience, while challenging, planted a seed: I knew I wanted to help others find relief and well-being. I just didn't know which method would become my calling.

My search led me to Physical Therapy University in Brazil. Just one week into my studies, I took a Carnaval break and went to the beach—a seemingly ordinary vacation that turned out to be life-changing. There, I met a Certified Rolfer who offered me a session of Rolfing Structural Integration.

That single session was nothing short of transformative. After years of traditional therapy, the difference this unique approach made in my body was profound. It felt like a fundamental shift, a way of working with the body that addressed the root cause rather than just the symptoms. I fell in love with the method instantly and enrolled in the next training session a few weeks later.

My deep commitment to Rolfing stems from that personal experience: I’ve seen firsthand how its distinctive approach can create lasting, positive change.

Rolfing in Zürich: A Hidden Gem

When I first arrived in Switzerland, Rolfing in Zürich was still relatively unknown. Only a handful of dedicated practitioners were working in the city and across the country. Compared to other established therapies, Rolfing hadn't yet found its footing, and many people were unfamiliar with its powerful approach to improving posture, movement, and overall well-being.

Over the years, the situation has remained steady. Rolfing is a specialized form of bodywork, a "hidden gem" in the therapy landscape. Yet, those who do discover it often experience such deep and long-lasting results that they become dedicated advocates for the method.

Awareness is slowly but surely growing as more people in Zürich seek holistic, long-lasting solutions for chronic pain, stress, and postural issues that conventional methods haven't resolved. The quality of care and the unwavering dedication of Rolfers here are incredibly high.

I believe that as more clients share their transformative experiences, Rolfing will increasingly be recognized as an essential therapeutic option in Switzerland.

The Power of Fascia and Continuous Growth

The growth of Rolfing might be slow, but it is certainly steady. We're seeing a slow, positive shift: more and more doctors are hearing about the method, and the power of word-of-mouth recommendations is immense.

A key factor in this growing recognition is the increasing popularity of fascia work. In fact, Rolfing Structural Integration, pioneered by Dr. Ida Rolf, was the pioneer work with this connective tissue. Rolfers have been working with the fascia for decades to release strain, reorganize the body, and create structural balance.

I have been practicing Rolfing for over 20 years, first in Brazil and now here in Switzerland. It’s been a humbling process to intertwine Rolfing with other techniques and to witness the method's principles grow and evolve in my daily work. I've completed the Advanced Rolfing training, which allows me to work even more directly and creatively with my clients' specific needs. It's refreshing—I can fluidly move between the fundamental principles and advanced applications in a session, tailoring the experience for maximum benefit.

If you are looking for a unique, effective way to address long-standing physical discomfort or simply want to feel more aligned, balanced, and at ease in your body, I encourage you to explore Rolfing in Zürich. It may just be the transformative experience you've been searching for.
